About

A Little About Me

I am Maritza Erazo — a trauma psychotherapist and Somatic Internal Family Systems (Somatic IFS) psychotherapist.

But before any of that, I am a human being who knows what it is to carry grief, to live in survival mode, to feel the weight of anxiety, depression, and shame. Like you, I have parts that have worked tirelessly to keep me safe, and parts that longed for rest, belonging, and freedom.

This is why I do this work. Because healing is not about fixing what’s broken — it’s about remembering what has always been whole.

My Approach

I practice Somatic Internal Family Systems (Somatic IFS) — a body-based approach that welcomes all parts of you with compassion.

In this work:

You have parts. I have parts. You have Self. I have Self.

We co-create a safe and brave space where your parts can be witnessed, your Self can lead, and healing becomes possible.

We listen not just to your thoughts and emotions, but also to your body’s wisdom. The body often carries what words cannot say.

This approach is especially supportive for people navigating trauma, anxiety, depression, grief, and shame, as well as the complexities of identity, culture, spirituality, and belonging.

My Lineage of Practice

My work is rooted in:

  • Somatic Internal Family Systems (IFS) – befriending protective and exiled parts of the self through body-based presence and Self-energy

  • Expressive arts and movement – using voice, image, story, breath, and body as pathways of expression and integration

  • Collective ritual and ancestral healing – honoring our roots, reclaiming lost wisdom, and transforming legacy burdens into sacred gifts

  • Decolonizing approaches to grief and mental health – centering community, culture, and soul

I am an IFS Certified Level-3 Psychotherapist, a Neurodynamic Breathwork facilitator, and a Somatic IFS consultant. I have had the honor of supporting individuals and communities across cultures, particularly those navigating systemic oppression, displacement, and intergenerational trauma.

What I believe

Every part of you has a place at the table.

Healing unfolds in relationship — with yourself, with others, with community, and with the larger web of life.

Grief is not an end point; it can be a doorway into deeper aliveness, joy, and connection.

No one is meant to do this alone — we heal in the presence of one another.

A Little More

I am also an immigrant, a mother, a partner, and a woman walking through my own transitions in life. My work is shaped by the wisdom of ancestors, the resilience of those who came before me, and the beauty of witnessing clients reclaim their wholeness.

When I’m not in session, I’m often leaning into simple practices that nourish me — meditating, learning to rest and savor life, creating rituals, walking by the river, or sitting in circle with others. These are the ways I remember that healing is not only personal, but also collective.

An Invitation

If you’ve found your way here, something in you is already reaching toward healing. Whether you come carrying grief, trauma, anxiety, depression, or shame — know that you don’t have to walk this path alone. Every part of you belongs, and every part of you is welcome.

It would be my honor to walk beside you.
