Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR)
I have found that integrating IFS into the EMDR modality allows for the entire internal system to experience the transformation EMDR provides when working on specific events. Rather than one part processing the event, IFS invites the system to witness the process creating internal collective healing. EMDR is used to target specific events that produce negative symptoms and emotions. Through EMDR, I'll help you process techniques to desensitize your negative emotional response and replace it with positive thoughts and beliefs. As your mental health therapist, I'll have you talk about your negative experience while focusing more on distressing feelings, beliefs, or images you experience from it. This psychotherapy treatment helps you process past experiences and recognize and understand your emotions related to those experiences. EMDR helps reinforce positive thoughts and behaviors until you are unaffected when you reflect on painful incidents. Through this method, you'll learn healthier behaviors and coping strategies for dealing with stressful situations. I offer intensive EMDR specific session of 90 minutes

Play Therapy Sandtray and Expressive Arts
As a registered play therapist and Certified IFS therapist marrying these two approaches allows me to guide your inner child in depending and understanding their needs Sandtray is commonly used with children. But it also applies to individual and family counseling. It involves using a sand tray and miniature objects to build a world that reflects your own in which you or your child can process issues causing distress. I use Sandtray as a less intimidating approach to IFS because clients can feel removed from the memory they are processing and "be" with different parts/feelings involved. It can help clients unblend from their parts/feelings and make them "feel" less overwhelmed, so there's less pressure to talk or explain painful thoughts or emotions directly. This is particularly helpful for those who struggle unblending from their overwhelming parts/feelings.

Psychedelic Assisted Therapy
I am trained in MDMA-assisted therapy, which is currently in clinical trials, which means that it is on the journey to become legalized and be available to people who have experienced PTSD. This training reinforces the experience of the healing energy that resides in us. Many people called it God, consciousness, inner healing energy, you name it. I respect the name that you want to give it. However you want to call it, this essence is beyond our understanding.
